It is as if I’ve known these people – other parents, staff, and even students – all my life! I am so grateful for the warmth, love, and support the school has given myself and my daughter. Even in situations that aren’t school related, they are there even if it’s just to lend an ear. I wouldn’t trade our time at Cornerstone for the world.

What We Provide…

Cornerstone Schools provides a thoughtful liberal arts education within a loving Christian community that prepares students for life during and after Cornerstone. Partnering with staff, parents and community volunteers, our K-Life vision centers on a commitment to provide the academic, spiritual and socio-emotional learning and support for students to move towards their fullest God-given potential. Our program includes:

Christ-Centered Community and Character

  • All teachers are committed Christians with a calling to D.C. Their first responsibility is to seek each student’s best and to train them in Christian character.

Capable, Caring Teachers and Staff

  • Teachers unite a love for students with the expertise in their subjects and participate in ongoing professional development and coaching to improve their craft. Teachers have an average of 6 years experience in the classroom.

Compassionate Classical Education

  • Cornerstone provides some 1-on-1 and small group supports to address academic gaps and to meet socio-emotional needs. Though we are able to provide services, we are not able to support students with significant needs.

  • Hot Lunch Program: Cornerstone's lunch program this year includes Chick-fil-AMama’s PizzaSilver Dinner and J&J Mex-Taqueria. Students may opt in the program to receive lunch 4 days a week for at a reasonable rate.

K-Life Vision

  • High School students spend 4 years completing a post-graduate plan alongside staff leadership who engage the resources to go to college or pursue a vocation.

    • We offer a Cornerstone College Scholarship, where any student graduating with a high school GPA of 3.5 or above will receive a college scholarship of up to $22,000 over 4 years.

Cultivating Student Leadership

  • We cultivate students who take initiative to serve their class and the school community and grow towards applying to serve as a House leader in their Junior or Senior year, leading a group of 9-12th grade students in fellowship, healthy competition, and service. Students also create and direct school electives and school social activities.

Community Support Programs

  • We engage loving adults as partners and mentors, guest speakers, and connectors to community programs and employment opportunities.
