The Cornerstone Connection
Art at Cornerstone
Ms. Sung, our art and music teacher, has created a welcoming and colorful classroom for students to celebrate the arts. This year, we expanded our art offerings to 11th and 12th Grade, allowing students in K-6th and 11-12th to enjoy weekly art and/or music instruction.
Recently, our 5th Graders created art that reflected stories and experiences of Christmas. They used clay, cardboard, and tempera paint to design, sculpt, and assemble artworks inspired by Peruvian folk art retablos.
Library Highlights
We love seeing students with a good book in their hands! Our beloved volunteer librarian, affectionately known as, "Ms. G," does a read-aloud with students who then get the opportunity to check out a book from the library. Thank you, Ms. G, for dedicating time each week to serve our school community in this way.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes
We are deeply grateful for Mr. Jeff, who leads the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) for a group of high school athletes. He is not only one of our volunteers but also a beloved former Cornerstone teacher.
FCA, which operates in schools across the country, aims to help student-athletes know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same. It’s also a joy to see Mr. Chris - a Cornerstone graduate and now a staff member - as well as the middle school boys’ head coach, help lead this wonderful group of young men and women.
