Cornerstone is getting an ‘Extreme Makeover’!  It started with a vision from designer and Cornerstone Supporter Janey Smith.  Then our friends at Vienna Presbyterian Church repainted all of our hallways to make them ready for the HUGE group of volunteers from Greater DC Cares.  Over 150 volunteers came out on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day for a ‘Day of Service’ and brought Janey’s vision to life by painting stripes on every floor.  We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this a reality, including John Leeper from Greater DC Cares who spent numerous hours planning and organizing everything.

Cornerstone students raised over $300 to purchase bednets, and had an educational visit from Wendy of Malaria No More during Malaria Awareness Week!  The top 2 classes, 3rd and 8th grades,  got to put a pie in Principal Lange’s face.

Our 1st through 6th graders had a blast at the Hoops for Hope Basketball clinic!  Our choir sang the National Anthem prior to the first game.
