Leon Harris Visits Cornerstone!

On May 11, 2010 local news anchor Leon Harris visited Cornerstone.  He toured the school and spoke to the student body about setting goals for their lives and visualizing the future they would like to have.  Mr. Harris encouraged our students by telling them his own story and how he came to have a successful career in the news.  Many of our students will benefit from the advice he gave about picking one’s friends well and staying away from the wrong crowd.  Thank you for taking the time to visit us Mr. Harris!

Cornerstone featured in April issue of World Magazine

World Magazine, a leading Christian publication, is featuring Cornerstone in its April issue.   “Most of the news from the Capitol and the White House over the past year has been about government expansion measured in the billions or trillions. And yet, a short distance away from those historic building stand volunteer groups that–under the media radar–are making history of their own by tutoring children in the evening, educating them during the day, or giving respite to parents of kids with disabilities.” Click here for the full story.

2010 8th Grade Missions Trip

PRAISE REPORT:  Thanks to the generosity of our donors and staff, and the fundraising efforts of our students and families, 100% of the funds needed for the trip have been raised! Twelve of Cornerstone’s  eighth graders  traveled to Whitehouse, Jamaica (1 ½ hours outside of Montego Bay) to share in missions work with Kingdom Builders Ministries (KBM).  They traveled April 2-April 9 during  their spring break week, and worked specifically with My Father’s House, KBM’s orphanage.  Stay tuned for photos from this wonderful trip!
